How Proflix works

The rules we follow for every listing, written down so you can hold us to them.

How prices are checked

Each listing shows the lowest paid plan the vendor publishes, in the currency their pricing page shows, with the billing unit (per user, per month, billed annually, and so on). We note whether there’s a permanent free plan or a free trial.

The “Checked” date is the day an editor last compared the listing with the vendor’s own pages. Some vendors show different prices by country; we record what the official page showed and say so where it matters.

We don’t scrape vendor sites or update listings automatically. A listing is re-checked when someone reports a problem.

How tools get listed

Anyone with an account can submit a tool. An editor reviews every submission against the official website before it’s published, and may correct or shorten the text. Listing is free, and ranking is never influenced by commissions or payments.

We don’t publish user reviews or comments.

How the weekly board is ranked

A tool joins the board for the week it’s approved, or the following week’s board when it’s approved from Friday on, so it gets a full week of votes. Boards run from Monday 00:00 UTC to the following Monday 00:00 UTC.

Rank is decided by votes only: one vote per signed-in person per tool. Ties go to the tool that joined the board first. When the board closes, its ranking is frozen and moved to the archive, and the weekly digest goes out.

Editors can correct a board after publication, for example to remove a tool that was listed in error.

Paid re-entry

Listing is free and stays free. A maker whose tool has already been on a board can pay a one-time fee to re-enter the current week’s board. There’s no subscription, and each re-entry is a separate purchase.

Paying buys a place on the board and nothing else. A re-entered tool starts the week with zero votes, is ranked by that week’s votes like every other tool, and isn’t placed above anyone. Re-entries aren’t labelled on the board, so we state it here instead.

Reporting a problem

Every listing has a “Report a problem” form at the bottom. You don’t need an account. Wrong prices and broken links are checked first. The listing stays up while an editor checks it.
